Gopher's Minions

Recommended Posts

Okay, so I started a new Fallout 4 game a few weeks ago.  Got the new mods in no problem.  But the last few times I've been playing, my HP bar is showing 10 points of damage.  It seems to go away when I take Buffout, and I heal up.  It doesn't appear to be addiction, because I had that cleared (Used some Addictol, went to a doctor) and it's still there.  The Steam community thinks it's probably a bugged mod, since I have yet to do the Vault 81 quests.  I have tried recycleactor on myself, have gotten re-addicted to Buffout and went to a doctor to have it cured, nothing.  Is there a console command that will remove all statuses from the character?  Or is this really a mod issue?  Mods are listed below.

Any help?  I can't afford to keep going through all my Buffout chems.

Sounds like mole rat disease. You could add a cure formula or try

player.additem 00055F10

then take the cure.

Also the following resets: may work since you have not done vault 81

rimod 00094636

or

rimod 002041b6

or both

If you are playing survival mode then you could simply turn survival mode off... you probably will not be able to turn it back on unless you start a new game.

BTW If you just let it kill you, it may reset when it reloads.

Sometimes it resets if you just save and reload. You may have to reboot your computer as well.

The bug may be related to the game thinking you are underwater when  you are in power armor.

I don't think it's your mods, most seem to be weapon or building mods. Though there are a few I do not know. However I have have heard some mole rats can be bugged and inflict the disease onto the player or allied NPCs. I'd remove any mod from your listing that is weapons and armor and just type the new list into the forum. The listing not load order. So I can look up the mods directly. And I mean the full mod name not the esp.

I notice you are running both True Storms and Vivid at the same time. I think these two conflict.

You are running several HUD modifiers that might conflict.

The Achievements mod has sometimes caused weird glitches. Once it caused the menu to only go up halfway so you couldn't see stuff at the beginning of the list.

If you are not using Spring Cleaning you might want to deactivate it.

There are a couple of mods I am not familiar with.

I am using Spring Cleaning.  Getting to scrap a few extra times helps with the settlement setup.  I didn't have a conflict with True Storms and Vivid Fallout before (Though I was using it in the original fragments, Vivid Roads, etc.).  Achievements is a new one I added, but the issue didn't come up when I had the mod first installed, so I'm not sure if that's it.

An update of sorts, taking Buffout, then healing, fixes the issue until I'm injured after the Buffout wears off.  Now, the HP bar will fill with the shaded "healing in progress" bit, but it gets tot those last 10 HP and stops healing,  The shaded part stays there for a bit, then regresses back.  I tried getting addicted to Buffout again and then curing it, but that appears to not have worked.  I'll try it one more time, wait until the Buffout wears off before getting the addiction cured.

There is always a way to fix any bug. Gopher recommends to uninstall all mods and see if that gets rid of the glitch. If it does not, then you have a messed up game and need to redownload the game as a clean install. Once you get rid of the bug, then you add the mods back in one at a time and check each addition until you either find the buggy mod or you reload everything with no problems.

On my typical skyrim install, that would take weeks of testing. Oh how I wish bethesda games had proper logs...

Yeah, disassembling the entire mod list would take a bit.  Have to think something triggered it, but not sure.  And really don't want to restart again.  I'll peel the last few added mods (Back to the previous mod setup) and see if that works.  But that's going to be a project that's probably going to take a day.

Also, have done some testing, and getting addicted to Buffout and then curing it did not help.  But it appears that I remain at full health after the Buffout wears off until I get injured.  So it's some kind of damage reference.  I'll keep poking, maybe I'll fill up on Buffout and then sleep.

Update!  Okay, the game is showing me having an Endurance penalty.  But not showing any addictions or diseases.  And I'm not in survival mode.  I've tried taking Buffout and then using recycleactor, no dice.  Can't find the cause still.  I wonder if the Wasteland Imports mod did something.  I took some Fixer because I was out of Addictol, then got some from Carla.  Any ideas on how to remove the Endurance penalty?  Is there a "removealleffects" command like there was in TES?

With the recent Windows 10 update my Skyrim and Fallout games all started crashing and having strange bugs. I was in the process of tracing the cause when there was another update that has revamped quite a bit of things. Skyrim and Fallout simply crashed CTD.

I followed my own advice and updated everything. NVidia had a major update so I got that and it turned out to be designed for the new Windows 10 update. I also ran a program that rebuilt the Edge browser. I then ran several maintenance programs, ran antivirus checks, ran malware removal programs, updated my motherboard interface, ran programs that cleanup my hard drives.

Next I opened Nexus Mod Manager and disabled all my mods in Fallout and Skyrim. Then I went into the Steam game folder in my computer (COMMON) and deleted the DATA folders in all three games  (Fallout 4, Skyrim, SkyrimSE). Then I opened Steam, went to each game and opened PROPERTIES, LOCAL FILES and ran VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES.

Then I went to SKSE and redownloaded those files and put them in my game folders.

I ran all three games to be sure they were working in vanilla condition.

Then I reactivated most of my mods. Some mods wouldn't activate so I deleted them and redowloaded from Nexus, then activated them.

Took awhile. All my games are now working. All weirdness is gone.

Hmmm, haven't noticed any other bugs yet, other than a few weird graphics errors, but that fixed itself when the update for my Radeon card came through, so haven't had that problem.  Looks like I may have a project ahead of me.  Will have to make sure I'm naked in an empty zone before I do that.  That bunker basement in Sanctuary should work.  Haven't played Skyrim in a long while, haven't even started SkyrimSE on the PC (Game on the PS4, but that's just to see if all the vanilla breaks were in there, they are.)

Okay, just pulled all my mods, deleted the Data folder, and reloaded.  Showing that I have an Endurance penalty and an intelligence bonus.  Even did recycle actor.  (And yes, I am naked.)  No effects, other than the magazines and bobbleheads.  So...  Shit.  Any ideas on how to fix this one, or do I just have a screwed game?

     Nope. No idea. My diagnosis is that something is off kilter. No idea what.

Have you deleted the whole game folder and reloaded from scratch? Including deleting the game folder in "DOCUMENTS/MY GAMES" Gopher shows how to save the folder under a temporary name so that you can reload it if you want instead of actually deleting it. Same goes for both game folders. It is a way of seeing if a fresh load fixes the problem. If not, then the problem is not in the game and you can then restore the folders.

The problem with this method is that Nexus MM gets confused and all mods must be inactivated and then reactivated. Otherwise Nexus thinks they are active when they are not.

Some errors are caused by software updates and system changes that have nothing to do with the game. Hard to trace though. Something stuck in memory somewhere. At least you got an intelligence bonus for all your effort. I think I would just live with the status effect. When Gopher got Molerat disease he just lived with it.

You have to decide what is more important: Continuing your game or having a blemish free game.

Slight update to this, I used a few food items that give you Endurance boosts.  No dice.  Pretty much looks like the game is giving me the penalties of Buffout addiction without the benefits.  Though, having a base 12 intelligence helps.  I was wondering if maybe I could go use the Vault 95 chair and get it cleared, but I don't know if that works for the PC, or only Cait.
