  1. So, in the process of doing the Fort Strong mission (Fallout 4 is actually minimized right this very moment) I came across a terminal describing the production and affect of M42 Launchers and T-51B Armor. It seemed like such a neat idea to have a Fallout China where we can experience the parity of Fallout: Boston that I started theory crafting in Discord. @Silverthorn1111 @Sugarhigh ,and @HollyDunmer have been right at it with me creating sense from my vodka fueled typos. We hit upon the idea of Fallout Cairo with the single amazing mental image of an irradiated glass forest (Like the Glowing Sea) with harsh radioactive dust storms that plague the entire wasteland. Coupled with this would be the frostfall style challenge of dealing with the desert heat. This is a long post and before you get into it I want to reiterate that as of posting this is merely a thought experiment. (Composition by @Silverthorn1111) My knowledge of Ancient Egyptian Lore is limited and relies heavily upon modern fiction so please forgive me if I have misused or not understood some of these concepts correctly. An overarching Egyptian Pantheon theme would run throughout the raider camps of the wasteland. This could manifest in the purely superficial (think Goa'uld helmets) or cult based behavior and power systems (think The Forged) which would allow you to decide how to interact and influence each sect. Old Testament and Egyptian Pantheon theme would feature heavily in many of the main aspects and Easter Eggs. The Main quest revolves around the Cheops pyramid which is controlled by intelligent pre-war ghouls (think Jason Bright from NV) that have created a cult around their leader. Copied form Discord: HollyDunmer - Today at ----- So Pharaoh Cleoshepsut is the main quest giver. Thutmose is the second-in-command who SHOULD have taken the throne but she picked someone else. He wants you to butcher her body during the mummification so her Ka can never pass through Duat and enter the Afterlife, even with perfect stasis in Maat. Thutmose then becomes the new Pharaoh. Also, option C. Find an old Anubis mask and pretend to be the god and have them do what you say Or Else! The Fallout 3 style Karma would be replaced by the status of Maat. By keeping Maat in balance through neutrality you foster a new bud of civilization. Should you throw Maat out of balance and swing it to far towards good or evil, you risk the future of mankind. But you don't believe in that superstition crap right? The '3 Great Marks' are the Nile (which provides life in the form of water and power[Centered around the city Revir Elin]), The Great Pyramids (which symbolize death and the passage to the afterlife), and the Crystal Forest (which is ground zero for the local Nuke strikes. This represents stasis. A bastardization of time and the natural course of the world). These would act as main landmarks and mission hubs like Diamond City and the Prydwen. This would be the first game that raiders weren't immediately hostile. Much like Vault 3 from NV raider camps would be hostile, but if your weapon is holstered upon approach they will be non-aggressive and allow you to enter and trade. Each raider faction holds you in their own estimation like FNV and some factions are mutually exclusive. Most factions have an animal related motif and can provide a replacement Pharoah for the main quest. Trading with raiders negatively impacts your reputation with peaceful settlements and vice versa. This enforces the idea of Maat. Unlike previous Fallouts the "best ending" would be a 'Witcher Neutral' version. First follower design is Qawiat the Lioness 'A lover of flame, she burns hot and only gets hotter as the battle rages.' Wearing the skin of her feral avatar she wades into battle armed with an enhanced gelled flamer and molotovs. Her father was barred from the institute on ethical standards and was randomly teleported into the region as penance. He promptly set up a human chop shop; just as likely to harvest your kidney as he was to cure your radiation sickness. His 'daughter' is a product of advanced animal gene splicing specifically with a lioness. She possess the fury to protect what's hers and a driving need to hunt. Throughout her companionship you gain the option to expose her father to her for what he is. If you have led a balanced or good life she will choose to have a reconstructive gene splicing procedure to alleviate her violence. Without the proper medical skill to assist her father in this she will either die or become damaged and suffer a -50% to all damage she deals. Should you assist her father she will crave psycho to remind her of her past. Should you incapacitate her father and perform the surgery yourself [strength 8 and medicine 90/ medicine perk 4] she will be cured of her violence and experience no further psychopathic tendencies. Easter Eggs could include: -Zetans could play a much larger role in this borrowing heavily on Stargate Egytpian lore. Likewise, Vault-Tec have the perfect 'in' with how ancient egypt revered tombs and the dead. -A Moses questline requiring the freeing of slaves. This could result in a series of 10 quests to recreate the plagues (I can't evcen imagine how intense a challenge it would be to lock pick an entire town in one night and sandman the first born). This would eventually culminate in the detonation of an unexploded warhead in the water to allow the slaves cover to escape. -Lady Killer/Confirmed Bachelor/Black Widow could yield some awesome dialogue with each raider leader. -An alarm clock can be found in the pockets of Sobek and looted should you kill him, however trying to pickpocket him for it will result in him noticing and turning hostile everytime. -The achievement "Never smile" for killing Sobek with a meat hook. -Sarlaac Pit/ Thresher Maw Proposed Quest Names: -I Want my Mummy [Relates to a Ghoul Pharoah Matriarch that is degenerating into a feral and requires you to aid her in her quest for the afterlife] -Radiant Tomb Raiding [Each tomb you can choose to keep the relics or share them providing a massive positive or negative boost to Maat] -A SunBro cult has risen up around the tomb of Akhenaten in which they ritually paint themselves gold and challenge each other in duels to the death for the glory of the sun. Losers are sacrificed to the eternal fire, kept burning within the inner sanctum of Akhenaten's tomb. -MII ['Rescue' Roman leader's daughter who was "kidnapped" by a cruel Raider boss. Turns out she is conning him. She tells him stories every night and uses their suspense to control him.] Standard Clothing: -Book of Eli garb -Resident Evil: Extinction Garb Most likely cloaks, scarves, flowing robes, vaguely jedi look, or ultra light Pitch Black, Riddick gear. -4 PER during day without sunglasses -4 PER in sandstorm without a headscarf AND goggles -2%hp/sec from 10am to 4 pm due to sun if not properly covered -Aladdin/Jasmine/Cleopatra look -Mad Max (more Furiosa, less Immortan Joe] -Cat themed everything for Bast cause... BAST Mutated Animals: -Rad Croc [Think Slaughterfish meets deathclaw, deadly in the water, fast as a deathclaw on land, but turns like a horker] -Rad Roc [And you thought cliff racers were annoying ] -Radoptimus [What do you think that is? Think water landmine with teeth and 20 times the hitpoints] -Snakes [Includes the 'Radjet' a quick moving burrowing snake that spits poison like a Dilophosaurus] -Ibis/Crane -Rhino [Replace Yao Guai] -Jackals [Almost unchanged from Radiation] -Water Buffalo [Brahmin replacer] -Lions/Lionesses [Replace Deathclaws except for rare instances] -Sand Worms -Baboons -Goats [Undamaged from radiation except for a third horn and a trumpeting sound instead of normal baa's]
  2. So, I know the blueprint mod is PC functionality only. Believe Mr, I'd rather be playing on PC. But, I want to recreate this design in my game. Which means it can only be done in one of two way. 1. Someone builds it as a mod for bethesda.net (far easier but highly unlikely, even if the feature allowing the builds to be exported into xb1 mods gets completed anytime soon.) or, 2. I build it myself from scratch step by step. This is the method I feel most likely I'll be able to get it done. But even by reviewing the full construction series, it's not giving me all the info I need to replicate it exactly. Not the least of which is the final products differences/edits that don't show up in the final videos of the series. Mixed in with the stream of consciousness style building that gives its "work in progress" style charm of the series. What I'd like is for someone who can, to make a more detailed video walkthrough of the design so I can piece together which pieces were used AND how they are all linked together. That would include how the 44 person housing area is actually constructed. I've made some superficial progress on the atrium, but as I move forward into the inclusion of the security offices and residential units, it's falling apart. I can't tell from the bids how all those fit together. So please, Gopher, or anyone actually, could you make available a more comprehensive, systematic walkthrough/tour of the facility so that I can recreate it? What I would need is video coverage to... 1. Get tile counts for all major and minor areas 2. A relatively brief moment in settlement builder to identify the group (atrium, common, utility) that those particular units are built out of at each transition point. Or at least at enough of them that I will then be able to identify them later on sight by some identifying feature. is. wall color. 3. If the vid is crafted on PC.. A section showing the vault areas from outside the units themselves would also be helpful to check for potential errors on my own part. Yes, I know it's a lot to ask, given the hamstringing that Sony forces on us with the no external assets issue. But this really is the vault that I want. Thanks in advance to anyone who's able to assist me in accomplishing this. By either means.
  3. Now this is a place for my Fan Lore, but any suggestions will be welcome. I intend to use this in a few RPs that I may currently be in, or have planned. 4. ABOUT This page is mainly for my own personal project, thanks to @VATROU inspirational Alaska Lore page I have decided to post some lore relating to my own project, Lost in New-North. This was going to be purely for the development of my art portfolio, but now I have decided to expand more to it then what i first originally planned. Nothing within the lore will be set in stone, i will be slowly adding to it as I go. I'm acting as if I'm creating an add-on for Fallout 4, so ill be covering a lot of things along side the lore. NOTE: I am not a hardcore Fallout fan.... yet, I have only just recently invested more time in reading about Fallout's universe , Fallout 4 was my first experience within the fallout universe. Apologies if there is anything incorrect relating to the lore of fallout written on this page. you can find VATROU's lore page here > https://t.co/iZkLBjC4Bw NOTE: Most artwork found on this page, I created so please don't steal any. 5. So just a crazy idea i had for some new merch. Between Premiere and a few resources for other projects i realized i could make some pretty fancy DVD box sets and got to wondering how cool would it be to pop a dvd out of a case slip it into the set top box and watch a season of Gopher's lets play, no internet connection required. I dunno just a crazy idea i thought i'd throw out there for our Dark Lord

  7. Hello minions! Anyone know how to fix a low GPU usage in Fallout 4 ? My 1080ti only gets to 40-50% with low frequency most of the time, even when my Fps drop to 30... I've been trying to figure it for days... Even reinstalled windows... Seems to be happening since Windows creator update. The odd thing is, I have no problems with any other games playing Battlefront or Shadow of mordor at Ultra 4K with constant 60fps... it's just Fallout 4... (haven't tried if I get it in Skyrim yet) I also seem to get the same issue on my "older" PC, which I used to setup my mods for a month, then played for a month with no problems,... Then I got that creators update and problems appeared... I thought let's install it on the new rig then ! Same thing... Without mods I get an avgFps of 50, with drops to about 40 quite often... I could play like that, but if i enable my mods, it drops to 20-25 sometimes with an avgfps of 35 and stuttering like hell ! With a 1080ti, 32Go of RAM and an i7 7820X which stays at 20% load! I did so many things I can't even remember : updated drivers, reverted to older drivers, reset bios, updated it reinstalled windows, tried with no drivers at all except the nvidia one, reset Nvida control panel settings, tried to change everyone of them, disabled steam overlay, disabled any overlay, even tried "Fallout works" a dll supposed to improve performance, tried many ini tweaks, disabled ingame V-sync, enabled G-sync, disabled it, activated adaptive V sync, tried windowed mode, borderless, fullscreen, ugrid 7, Enboost, Shadowboost, sweetfx, low settings, ultra settings, mods, no mods, etc... Disabled/Enabled Windows 10 new Game mode and Game DVR (P.S.) Whatever I do, I get almost the same FPS between 1080p at low settings and 1440p at ultra... difference is like 2-3 fps...If I lower the resolution, the GPU usage goes down, and the low FPS stays roughly the same... Any help would be appreciated ! Help me please ! Thank you Reddit post I made : https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/6ss4td/need_help_with_low_gpu_usage_in_fallout_4_please/ My specs : (It's a 3D rendering and a gaming machine) CPU : i7 7820X 8cores at 4.5 Ghz GPU : Asus Strix 1080 Ti OC 11G RAM : 32Gb Corsair Vengeance 3000Mhz Cas15 SSD : Samsung Evo 960 M.2 Mobo : MSI x299 Gaming Carbon Screen : Asus PG348Q 3440x1440p 60hz/100hz G-sync, (tried connecting with 2 Displayport cables with no difference obviously) PS : I hope you don't mind emoticons !
  8. So yeah, the GTA V stream I tried the other day only managed to record 5 minutes of a 2 hour play, probably because I closed the internet down, won't make that mistake again. Such a waste, I complained about all sorts of things, from griefers to steering wheels blocking the view of the speedometer and sadly you missed it all. On more positive news, I have started recording my current Fallout 4 playthrough, using Shadowplay to avoid fps loss, so it tends to cut out without warning, still its processing. Created a playlist for it, will try GTA again when I next play it. Still need to finish my house in Minionland too... Second video is still processing when I posted this btw. Going to bed now, its 4am.
  9. So I was watching Oxhorn's How Settlement Attacks Work And after all the stuff about spawn points and why attacks appear inside walls when you Fast Travel; 8 minutes into the video he gave some information that was new to me and probably extremely useful knowledge for everyone, including Gopher. Specifically: 1. The higher your settlement happiness the lower the chance of being attacked 2. You actually only need 1 defence for every settler to get the maximum reduced chance effect. 3. The chance of a settlement being attacked never goes below 2%. Meaning that even with 3000 defence and 100% happiness, every settlement still has a 2% chance of an attack occurring every day. Also in another video he mentioned that the chance of a settlement successfully defending itself without you present is 50%. (if I recall correctly, which I may not) It does not take into account how much defence the settlement actually has at all; which is of course patently stupid, but well, its Bethesda. I don't know about you guys, but I think I may have to go mod shopping.
  10. I've recently started playing New Vegas again and im loving it. But it suddenly just stopped working. Everytime id start a game (new or loaded) it would crash. I've tried for hours trying to fix the problem, because i thought a mod was causing the issue. I even uninstalled all mods and redownloaded the entire game, but it still crashed. Thats when i remembered a Windows update between my last time playing NV and now. After some research google confirmed that it was indeed the new Windows 10 Update that made Fallout NV (and apparently even Fallout 3) unplayable, if you have an Nvidia Card with a driver newer than version 368.81. After rolling back to that driver and and installing the fresh beta version of New Vegas Anti Crash my game worked just fine again. I don't know if rolling back the driver is enough on its own, because i did both together, but if you do both you should be good. I'm writing this in the hope to save someones time, because its not a well known issue (afaik), but a very confusing and annoying one. Greetings
  11. He's right this is terrifying but also makes me cackle with the bits of mad scientist I have in me. I would probably sign up to be "improved" or not..... anyways LINK!
  12. Now I'm not a fan of this, but for the people that play Fallout 2, recently they launched the English version of the mod Fallout 1.5: Resurrection (before it was only available in Czech). I found out about this via this article: http://motherboard.vice.com/read/fallout-15-resurrection-gives-us-the-fallout-3-we-always-wanted?utm_source=mbfb
  13. As a huge fan of both the original Fallouts (1,2, and yes, even Tactics) and the Bethesda ones, I always felt like the Bethesda games were missing some of the main points/nuances of the Fallout series, although Fallout: New Vegas did bring some back. Anyway, I found this INSANELY long video (you thought that Gopher made long videos) all about what Bethesda didn't do right when making specifically Fallout 3, and what they could have learned from the first 2 to make it better. This was like a light switch turned on for me after watching/listening to the entire thing. I knew that I enjoyed Fallout 3, but there was something always a bit off, or it felt like I was just missing something that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Most of the points that are made in this video I wholeheartedly agree with, even though I think that I enjoyed Fallout 3 a lot more than this guy did. For context, I played Fallout 2 for the first time about 2 1/2 years ago, and fell in love with it. Then a few months later I played Fallout 3, then Fallout: New Vegas. Even after beating New Vegas twice in a row, I still felt the need to come back to Fallout 2 and complete it a second time (a few months later I also played F1). There was just something about the originals that Bethesda just couldn't capture, and may never will. Anyway, TL:DR: If you like both the Interplay(RIP) and the Bethesda Fallouts, I highly recommend watching this video: Any and all discussion is welcome PS: I couldn't find any rules about embedding or linking videos, so I hope I don't get in trouble
  14. Ive been rewatching gophers "Lets Play Fallout 3 (modded)" and on episode 5 at time 15:10 he says "if you have seen the fan fiction nuka break go watch it...." and i did and i found it surprisingly good so heres the entire first season
  15. From the Nuka Break team comes a new episode of The Wasteland, check it out.
  16. So I'm bored and it's late (for me) and I thought I'd share this as I was browsing youtube. Thoughts on this?
  17. You seriously have to check out Fallout Shelter again Gopher. In addition to the ability to craft Legendary weapons and clothing which has been around for a while, you can now send dwellers out on quests.
  18. http://imgur.com/5Nof8Ya But look at all those pixels!
  19. When I watch Gopher's livestreams of his "Barry" playthrough on the XBone, I'm always amused by his silly answers to the repeated question why he's playing on a console now. So, just for fun, let's come up with some more "reasons" for him to have switched: All those comments that he should play Fallout "as it was intended" worked! So now he's playing on a console, min/maxing his stats, always using VATS, and fast-travelling everywhere. New scientific research shows that the human eyeball explodes if it is exposed to 60 frames per second, so now he's safe on an XBox at 25 fps on average. Bethesda entered a deal with Microsoft to make Fallout 4 XBox-exclusive, so the latest patch turned off the PC and PS4 versions. When you try to start them, you just get an advert for the XBox. Due to an unfortunate head injury, he can no longer deal with the complexity of a keyboard or the dizzying responsiveness of mouse controls. He now requires the soothing simplicity of a controller, to avoid frustrated rage fits. Marketing research shows that people who watch PC-based Let's Plays are often PC owners themselves and capable of using ad-blockers in their browser. To maximise YouTube's his profits, he is now courting the console player demographic. Microsoft paid him to do it, and he sold out. Door-to-door XBox evangelists convinced him to convert to their religion. Phew! That's all I got. Does anybody else have some ideas? Can we get to a full 10 points?
  20. Hi guys, I wanted to share a let's play I started of Fallout New Vegas. It's just for fun really, and I'm having a lot of it.

  22. Jack The Gunsmith drunk of the wastes was a great character and i personally would love to see something more along the lines of his RP but here is an idea i think would be interesting for a sequel. It is not hard to see that Jack could have had a long day, longer than normal to say the least, so being the Alcohol Enthusiast that he is i think it is possible that even he could have gotten wasted one night and made some questionable decisions during the night. Imagine the Tale of a Girl who was raised on the Legends of their Father (of whom never learned that he accidentally made himself a father) and from the wastes of Vegas they traveled to where he was last seen, a bar in a Commonwealth Community called "Diamond City." All im saying is that this is a Fairly Plausible Thing that could happen as the start of a Role Playing Character for Fallout 4. and us Minions have seen Jack make other mistakes (like loosing where the Bloody door is) and all of us have hounded Gopher for letting Jack make these Mistakes. -Dr A
