PSquared reacted to Flyddon in CREATION CLUB : The Fatal Flaw
So here again I would like to point out, we are looking at this from the PC gamer side.  "The mods are crap" , "they are not worth $2" , "I can get them free on Nexus"...  now stop and think what if there was no Nexus?  This is the life of a PS4 user....
VGChartz' William D'Angelo writes: "The remastered version of the open world action RPG from Bethesda - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition - sold 938,734 units first week at retail, according to our estimates. First week sales can be viewed on the VGChartz Global Weekly Chart for the week ending October 29.

"Breaking down the sales by platform, the game (Skyrim SE) sold best on the PlayStation 4 with 589,449 units sold (63%), compared to 349,285 units sold on the Xbox One (37%)."   (note 63 + 27 = 90    90% of Skyrim SE sells went to consoles, mainly because us PC users already had it, but look at the original market of Skyrim below)
If you have a new market for mods, which is what the PS4 is, then the Creation Club is a money maker.  As much as we would like to think,  PC is not KING, the market share is moving to consoles,  PS4 user can't go to or use Nexus.   What Bethesda has done is found a way to exploit PS4 users.
Skryim (oldrim)  Sales By Platform    ( Total Skyrim units sold  as of 2015,          23,270,000 )
    XBox 360            59 %
    Playstation 3     27%
    PC                   14%
    based onhttp://www.statisticbrain.com/skyrim-the-elder-scrolls-v-statistics/

By all accounts  PC's is the smallest market for Skyrim and Skyrim SE, so Bethesda's Creation Club is catering to the larger market.  The Creation Club does not take away anything from the PC user, so let us just sit back and feel sorry for our console brothers and sisters that have to pay for what we get free... God bless Nexus.
just FYI,  some rough numbers  there is 8000  files/mods at Nexus right now for Skyrim SE, with 589,000 Skyrim SE sold to the PS4, if (over time) each of these new users purchased just 5 files (realize no one has just 5 mods for skyrim)  but just 5 mods  @ $2 a mods for these new users   =  $5,890,000  .  That's just 5 mods at $2 each based on new sells only.   Think about once this gets going  and you have 4000 mods to choose from and the average cost is $4 a mod, any good Dovahkiin will have at least 20 mods, 20 mods at $4 each = $80     80 * new users 589,000 = $47,120,000  .....  $47 million.     Think about all of those console users only spending $8 a month on mods...  got to have texture mods, oh then got to have the god  sword, and oh the re-skin back-pack....  this makes for a great revenue stream.   pay as you play   $8 a month to have the prettiest horse armor is worth it.

Speaking of getting high-leverage crates and stuff out of the way, you can use those little Recycler Charge grenade things near them and they'll suck them up and turn them into materials just like like anything else (can't remember if there's a skill for 'larger' objects or not, though).

This seems like it could be a soundcloud channel to be honest. There is nothing to look at in pre streams. Unless Gopher uploads something else...
Vidme seems pretty young to me atm and has some annoying flaws like : Starting Rant
    - There is no time stamp for where you are in the video, unless you hover over the bar, which works only once in a while. You need to remember it's negative...
    - If you want to see the comments, it reopens a new page and the video starts over.
    - No dark theme. (Why the He*# didn't they do it black from the start ? it's 2017 ffs, everyone knows that PC screens are destroying our eyes!)
    End of Rant

Apparently it's been 10 years since the release of The Witcher (1). CDPR put out a video in honor of its anniversary.
CD Project Red continue to do things right. They continue to stand out.

I would suggest in the strongest possible terms that people seek permission directly from Gopher before "acting on his behalf"
However well intentioned this idea may be there could be many permutations to an outcome  that Gopher would absolutely not want.

"Cait [as she interrupts a conversation], this is literally the worst timing ever. Again." So irritating. The "companion character interrupts other dialog" bug - and yes, this is a bug - should have been fixed Day 1. Still not fixed. Bethesda!!!!!

Legally, Bethesda owns all mods made with the Creation Kit or using any Bethesda resource. It is similar to what happens when an outside writer submits a script for a TV Show or a Marvel comic. The writer owns the idea not the product. Studios commonly buy the idea.
I wrote a script for Dr. Who and the studio liked it but did not have the resources to produce it, so they tore it apart and used bits for the next couple of seasons. It was so changed that I never got a dime.
I wrote a script for Indiana Jones and the Temple  of Doom. Instead of buying it George Lucas put it on his coffee table and thought about it for a month. He then wrote the script with enough changes so again I never saw a dime.
I normally got a half million for a script like that.

I hadn't really thought about this being the last game on the Creation Engine...
But then I have talked about the new engine many times. They are bringing out Fallout 4 in VR... I wonder what engine they are using. I have called it Creation Engine II, but I don't know if that was a place holder name or the name they are using.
Creation Engine 64 is not really a new engine. Same engine, new skin. Is the VR version the new engine or just a new VR skin?
Creation Engine is clearly inferior to the REDengine 3. Bethesda needs to really change the approach to many things, such as facial expression. REDengine 4 will be amazing.
AI can simplify the creation of code that is pretty much bug free. I hope the next engine is not just a new skin on the old engine.

Excellent point. Obviously Bethesda will have to support SE. Or something better.
Maybe approved Creators will be given proprietary software and become at home devs...

3rd party devs will almost certainly get the beth tools.
"Smaller" devs may get them if beth thinks that they are skillfull enough.
However this is likely the last game running on this version of this engine, so they may, when approved for acceptance to the club, give everyone full dev tools.

Because the Creation Club add-ons will go through Bethesda revamping, they will run without the SE and run what memory is needed at the moment. Modders do not have the tools to create these mods. Bethesda does. So the mods you mention will not run on consoles, but Bethesda could revamp them to do so.

I have no idea how many people outside of the US have Amazon Prime (for the videos, presumably), but if you do then you can attach your Prime account to (Amazon-owned) Twitch. Doing so will give you, IMO, mostly a bunch of crap (usually miscellaneous preorder-type rewards for popular games). However, it also gives you one free Twitch subscription to use every month. It acts just like a normal Twitch sub -- including payments to the person to whom you subscribed. Only difference is that your Twitch Prime subscription must be reused each and every month - it will not auto-renew like a normal Twitch sub does.
So if you have a Prime subscription, might as well sign up and let your favorite Twitch streamer get a little money from you largess - it costs you nothing!
PS, I don't work for Amazon or Twitch ;-)
