I finished my first play through in about 52 hours (Normal mode).  46 quests completed 2 botched. Good game  if a bit short. Replayability is moderate as it stands now. I have started a solo (no companions) game. I am sure I will do one more playthrough after this one but I doubt it will go beyond that. Combat is on the easy side even for someone like me with low skill. Loot is extreme there is so much stuff lying around that it defeats the item durability mechanic. I never purchased a consumable or ammo of any kind. About mid way through I switched from cautious sniper to spray and pray with combat rifles. Even with no aiming skill and just dumping rounds on target I never came close to running out. The AI is pretty weak making the sneak skill questionable. The story and writing are good if a bit predictable at times. Overall I really like the game I am hoping they will add more over time with DLC. If you are into combat this game really isn't it. The focus is all on the conversations and the stories in the terminals.

OK I figured it out its a game mechanic regarding reputation. The faction controlling this district was one negative action away from becoming angry with me so killing even one mech pushed the district over the edge.

Just about any open world game can get new areas or continents or even planets. I remember a DLC which was short lived because it was so oddball that allowed a player to go from Skyrim to a moon.

It occurs to me that the way Obsidian set this game up is perfect for DLC. They can both add new areas to existing planets and add new planets/space stations to the map.

OK I am at a point where I can't tell if my game is bugged or this is standard so I'm checking here. Specifically Byzantium quests. I attempted the retirement community quest was attacked by the mechs and the entire area turns hostile including the quest giver. I tried the quest where you are sent to assassinate the scientist. I decided to spare her and send her to work with Phineas. The guard stops me and I have no option but to fight including the scientist I just spared. And likewise the entire district is now hostile to me. Is there any way to complete a quest in Byzantium that does not turn the entire district hostile?

Yeah I know the feeling. I wanted more fast travel points in New Vegas lol. Now I'm trying to slow down and work through everything and I lose a mission for my effort. Oh well this game is fun so I know I'm going to play it a few times.

Most of the reviews Ive seen have been about normal difficulty. I think if you limit fast travel (or exclude it) and you role play more than just attempt to complete quests this game will be far longer. I haven't tried the supernova difficulty but no doubt that is going to add quite a bit of time as well. Replay-ability seems pretty high as well. I just failed a companion mission while sorting inventory and upgrading weapons. I found that annoying but without scum saving you will need to replay the game if you want to see it all. Its a really good game so far only time will tell if it holds up tho. Im at about 26 hours and I have only visited a couple planets. Of course I play pretty slow.

Well this topic has gone silent for far to long. So quoting Siderco quoting Proffesor Farnsworth.....Good news everyone! Schwerpunkt and I have done a little nether renovation. It started from the frustration of losing ghast tears  in lava and has grown (literally) into an epic jungle. Directly under the nether hub we have built a  jungle and a mushroom island. The jungle has a lost temple and an acorn house  built by Grogstache. Also I have built a Village of the Dammed. I have begun importing zombie villagers to stock it named after some of our fallen minions. Currently it houses TheBoar, Cimi and 2fast2haste. Plans are in the works to add more. Sadly we would need a  City of the Dammed to house all the names but it is just a small tribute village. It is not complete it still needs a center piece. I was thinking an altar but a sacrifice cage dangling over a lava pit was  suggested. Finally a note  of warning. The jungle has a dirt floor one block above the lava lake (so you can still harvest lava) But more importantly it is 80 or 90 percent unclaimed space. So if a ghast see's you before you see it the fireball can destroy the ground. If you are on that ground you are going for a swim in lava. Be careful.

@Teddy Harvest yeah it really isn't such a big deal. A few hours of me playing a game.  Sometimes I lose perspective. I really enjoy the community aspect much more than I thought I would. We have survived this long without the trading post we will be fine. That being said improving the experience for the community will ensure I have a place to play so it's purely selfish

::Sigh:: And now Minion Exchange is gone. Due to lack of interest I removed almost everything I had there. No use letting all those resources  go to waste. However I still would like a place to transact large trades.
So @Gopher @Rodzyn @Cherub @Darkfire  and anyone else involved with this decision. Jeancly has suggested building a trade post at  spawn. Facing the pond on your right side perhaps in the side of the mountain there. Which is Gophers mine. I had 27 subclaims set up  in the basement I was using. 6 blocks each with four double chests and a space for a hopper. It did not take up that much space. The idea is a place to store large amounts of things you wish to trade or get rid of such as dirt, cobble stone or wood. Also hoppers labeled with names  for donations to the persons build something like NT has at spawn. This has been something needed for a long time. In the first three weeks as I was exploring I found a chest labeled free stuff. It was filled with cobblestone I went up some stairs and around a corner and there was an inn with a hopper system asking for donations of cobblestone it was with in 30 blocks of the free chest. So a place central and easy to get to that has signs to ask for things and store excess item would be very handy. Thanks in advance for considering this.

A few weeks ago I was looking for ESO info and stumbled upon Gopher's YT where I got to watching some SSE gameplay. After seeing all the mod possibilities I was hooked. One day I will sleep again; but for now it's mod madness and snacks.
Anyways, I'm a guy from Toronto, Canada that's into CG Art and obviously gaming, little sleep and snacks, lots of snacks.

Hi, I'm Sebngarde. You might remember me from other threads asking for help
Not sure if this is the right place for it, but here we go.

I decided to start a Youtube channel. Nothing serious, just for fun while I'm in vacation.
Just uploaded my first "test" video and I'm hoping to get some advise
I'm new to Youtube-ing so don't expect professional level. If you have any advise, please let me know
I'm currently using a Japanese freeware called "AviUtl" for editing and rendering, and I thought I got a good quality... until I uploaded it and the quality dropped xD I'm also recording with Shadowplay in 1080p 60fps.
By the way, right now I'm dealing with 3+ hours to render this 6 mins long video... is that normal?
I tried looking for good software for editing and rendering, but the prices were higher than I was expecting, so I'm stuck with freeware until a sale or something. I know some people make videos with Windows Movie Maker, but I couldn't get good quality with that one either :/
Feel free to leave comments with advise or follow me on twitter @Sebngarde ^^

Anyway, nothing too fancy, but here we go:

I agree. If the main character has a name and backstory of their own i.e Geralt of Rivia then the voice the developer provide is fine. If you create your own character then the voice needs to be the one in your own head. If they insist on having voiced dialogue I would prefer to at least have an option for which voice I hear.

Honestly the first character will sound fine no matter how you build it. I am only thinking of replay ability. If you can create a wide variety of characters and  play styles then it stands to reason people will play the game more than once. Hearing the same voice will break immersion for many of us. Of course if the game is as good as it looks it will be a minor issue. Still offering a few different sounding voices say 2 male 2 female could help a bit. Adding a few more with each dlc would greatly expand the options. Of course cost is a factor and probably the main one. How about a pitch or tone adjuster slider that might work as well. I wouldnt mind playing a squeaky voiced tough guy named Alvin ;P

It looks great. Im curious to see how they handle the voiced protagonist angle. With that level of character customization you will need multiple voices to go along with it.

I love this type of playstiles. With a few mods you can change Skyrim into a "Tamriel Life Simulator" and just as one of the mods says, "Live Another Life"
I remember reading a story on a blog about a guy doing it and loving the idea. My "adventuring times" ended that day
I suppose you could say I've taken a arrow to the... nevermind

That sounds like an amazing set up! I don't post much here but I did introduce myself a loooooooooooong time ago, it's how I got involved in Minion-land (thanks Shawn:P) and that's where I've spent most of my free time the last year or so ^^ I've now also added the Legacy mod to my play-through, looks very exciting! I was going to wait to play Skyrim again until I had a better computer....but I got impatient, so currently trying to carefully balance my plate of mods on a very tiny and worn out gpu tea saucer ^^
